Candidates seeking admission into the Nurse Tutors' Programme must possess the following:
1. Senior Secondary Certificate or its equivalent with credits in a least five relevant subjects: the candidate must have credits passes in English language. Mathematics. Physics. Chemistry and Biology at not more than two sitting plus at least 50% score in the selection screening test and oral interview.
2. Professional Qualifications/Experiences
- Nurse Tutors Course must be a Registered Nurse with RN Certificate of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NCMN). An additional qualification in at least one of the following nursing specialty areas: Midwifery, Psychiatry, Orthopaedic, Perioperative and Ophthalmic Nursing is an added advantage.
- Midwife Tutors Course must be a Registered Midwife and possess RN and RM Certificates of the NMCN.
- Public Health Nurse Tutors Course must possess a Public Health Nurse certificate Registrable with the NMCN.
In addition, the prospective students must show Evidence Of Sponsorship throughout the period of training, , candidates must have at least two (2) years of post-registration experience in the intended area of specialty and Candidate will also be required to undertake an examination. and the final acceptance of a student depends on success at the medical examination which is carried out on arrival at the school. Application letters are invited from Ministries of Health, Teaching Hospitals, Nurses’ Training Institutions and other Government Agencies who would like to sponsor suitably qualified candidates for admission in October 2015 for the above named programme to train as Nurse Educators, Midwife Educators, or Public Health Nurse Educators. Prospective self-sponsored candidates may also apply.
2. Method Of Application
Applicants should forward four (4) stamped self-addressed official envelopes and non-refundable application fee of seven thousand, five hundred naira (N7,500.00) only payable into the School’s remittal account. 3. Conditions For Training are :
Candidates or their sponsors will be responsible for Bench fees, Feeding, Books, Hostel Maintenance fees, Transportation, Clinical Experiences, Teaching Practice and other incidental expenses and also necessary that the student’s health, conduct, theoretical performance and practical work remain satisfactory throughout the course. The school will terminate the student’s course of training if he/she fails to reach and maintain the required standard in all the aspects mentioned; and Students are subject in all aspects to all aspects to all condition of training stipulated from time to time by the school in compliance with the Board of Management and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.

Student Union Politics .
The Student Union is the representative student body of the School. All registered students are members of the union by payment of an annual subscription which is to be paid directly to the SUB Account. Following a government policy, Student Unionism is voluntary, in effect; student may opt out of the Union.The general function of the Union is to foster and manage the athletic.

In accordance with existing Student Union contribution the Union elects the following officers every session: President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer and Sport Secretary. The Union Constitution also provides for the office of a Head of School with supervisory powers over the management of the Union finances Before any distinguished person outside the School is invited by the Student Union or any group of students to participate in public lectures or other activities in the School, the organizers must first seek the approval of the Head of School.
